Spydus, renowned for its patron-centric approach, introduces innovative features tailored to empower library services and community engagement. Its key functionalities include a user-friendly discovery OPAC equipped with reader recommendations, seamless mobile applications, and integrated e-content for a comprehensive, user-centric experience.
The adoption of Spydus by GRLC anticipates improvements to efficiency and accessibility. Noteworthy features include:
- Centralised Resource Management: Spydus consolidates resources, archives, digital content, and event management into a singular, comprehensive application, streamlining operations for staff and patrons alike.
- Flexible Consortium Options: Providing cost-saving measures and resource optimisation, Spydus offers customisable consortium options adaptable to libraries of various sizes and types.
- Empowering Self-Service Capabilities: Through Spydus, users gain increased autonomy, accessing a wide array of services independently, thereby reducing staff workload.
GRLC is Victoria’s largest public library service, operating library services on behalf of five member councils: Borough of Queenscliffe, City of Greater Geelong, Colac Otway Shire, Golden Plains Shire, and Surf Coast Shire. GRLC operates a network of 19 libraries, three mobile library services, community outreach activities and extensive digital platforms.
